An initiative created by ArtLab to continue the supports of emerging artists from all walks of life.
With the build up of artworks in artists storages spaces, ArtLab strives to find places in high exposure area's to exhibit artworks with no cost to the artist.
If you have a space you would like to provide as an exhibition space for local artists, we can help make it happen.
Here are some spaces we have already successfully occupied:
stARTup Gallery - at the Beaufort Street Festival.

This project was built in collaboration between ArtLab, JumpClimb & the Beaufort Street Network's Festival Committee.
Together, a large space in the festival was allowed to be opened up to emerging artists living in Perth. With no exchange of money, 48 bays were given to artists who were looking for a step up into the exposure of their art. Curated by ArtLab, 488 artworks were processed at the Sales & Info desk in the 8 hour period of the festival. Averaging to 1 local artists artwork going to a new home every minute during the Beaufort Street Festival!
SATURDAY 31 MAY 2014 > 09 OCTOBER 2014
Creative Labs has taken on board an Occupy Pop-Up project, in collaboration with ArtLab they have opened their walls to the creative public to hang artworks free of charge.
The walls are almost full! And when they are, this colonial style building will see a Launch Night marking the beginning of a new creative hub in a reformed area of Northbridge.

Soon to be home to host many creative networking nights, live musical gigs, DJ sets, ArtGames Skirmishes, exhibitions and more. Follow on facebook for more info.
FRIDAY 13 DECEMBER 2013 > 30 MAY 2014
We are currently occupying a music school in collaboration with Walther Music.
Hanging strips have been added to almost every room to display local artworks. The gallery will be launched to the general public once all walls are full. In the meantime the gallery is unofficially open and artworks ARE for sale while the building is used at a music school.
MONDAY 23 SEPTEMBER 2013 > MONDAY 14 OCTOBER 2014
In this block, word got around about ArtLab's gallery concept and received an additional 400 artworks in the first week dropped off from Perth based emerging artists. The space was used by local bands for gig nights, artists for presentations and by the community for movie nights. In total, 550 artworks went through the gallery in this period. The final day the gallery hosted a huge auction, artists had filled a form when dropping off artworks nominating some for auction and a reduced starting price. Every artwork which was left on the wall and nominated was auctioned while ToastFace Grillah provided some delicious toasted sandwiches.
In the total period of this block, ArtLab processed the sale of 600 artworks, paying $15,000 to emerging artists living in Perth.
The artists involved in this project received great exposure, not only to an art enthused market but also to their peers. This interaction has developed collaborations & friendships amongst the creative community.
TUESDAY 20 AUGUST 2013 > WEDNESDAY 4 SEPTEMBER 2013
The trial begins! In collaboration with the MRA, ArtLab secured a pop-up shop on William Street, Northbridge. The concept to fill the large shop front was simple, provide an exhibition space for artists to drop off their artworks for free. With no exchange of money, ArtLab accepted any artworks from anyone willing to drop off their own work and display it on the wall for sale. Each price is set by the artist and consulted by the curators when asked for help. All commissions and funds raised through the gallery & function space went towards the first Creative Conference! During this block ArtLab had 350 artworks circulate through the gallery, at the end storing 150 that were not sold and not picked up by the owning artists, remaining for our walls when we return.
